WB OFFERS $50M CREDIT FOR HEALTH SECTOR REFORMS IN AZERBAIJAN

The World Bank offers $50m credit to reforms in the healthcare system. The Health Ministry told Trend that the relevant talks were held between the Health Minister Ali Insanov and the head of the WB Mission in Azerbaijan, Enis Barishi.

The Minister voiced his hope that the credit will be spent on the construction of heath centers in 5 regions of the country. The centers will cover statutory services, clinics and ambulance.

They will have advanced equipment and deliver surgical and herapeutic services to regions. The project will be launched from 2006 and the sides agreed upon continuing consultations on the project.

The WB offers Azerbaijan a credit for 50 years within interests. The first repayment will start within 10 years.
