On July 24 through August 16, the 2006 Niagara International Chamber Music Festival will be held in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario under the supervision of famous musician Attis Bankas.
Trend reports the program of 2006 Niagara International Chamber Music Festival includes compositions of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (250th birthday) and Dmitry Shostakovich (100th birthday).
Alongside Mozarts and Shostakovichs compositions, the compositions Fantasy on Mozarts theme and Concertino in classic style by Azeri composers Uzeyir Hajibeyov and Ismayil Hajiyev, respectively, will be performed at the opening concert. The festivals booklet says Hajibeyovs and Hajiyevs compositions will be performed within North American premiere.
Azeri violoncellist Teymur Sadikhov, residing in Canada many years, is also announced as a participant of the festival.
