The second Congress of European Azerbaijanis is expected to be held in Bulgaria at the end of January, 2007, Nazim Ibrahimov, Chief of the State Committee for Affairs with Azerbaijanis Living Abroad, told journalists, Trend reports.
He reminded that there are a lot of Turks and Azerbaijanis living in Bulgaria. Mr. Ibrahimov said that Bulgaria was interested in holding such arrangements. Representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Bulgaria positively accepted this proposal.
The Chairman of the State Committee brought to the attention of the journalists that this month, a Community of Azerbaijanis living in Florida and a Congress of Benelux Azerbaijanis have been established.
Mr. Ibrahimov, who participated in both of the events, provided the journalists with the information about the two arrangements. He said that organizations of the Azerbaijani Diaspora, as well as the American-Azerbaijani Strategic University AzPak are envisaged to be found in most of the American States.
Mr. Ibrahimov emphasized the integration into the Congresses of Benelux Azerbaijanis, and Iraqi Turcoman living in Benelux countries, and also spoke about the historical roots of these processes.
