24th Session of TURKSOY to Take Place in June 2007 in Kazakhstan

As a result of the 23rd session of TURKSOY, a joint statement was passed. Text was announced by the Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism, Atilla Koch. The document said that the members of TURKSOY should pursue joint policy for protecting and developing the cultural values in the international arena, including UNESCO, Trend reports.

As a result of the session, the Action Plan (period from May 30, 2005 to December 15, 2006) and financial report (period from May 23, 2005 to December 18, 2006) were confirmed. In addition, Action Plan for 2007 was discussed and confirmed. Koch said that a decision was made on conferring International Prizes of TURKSOY for 2005, as well as appointing special prizes of TURKSOY that will be conferred to the conference participants.

In addition, a Bureau International Heritage Center of Turk Popular Culture was created in Baku, which will function through the support of TURKSOY.

As a result of the session, it was decided to hold the 24th meeting of TURKSOY in June 2007 in Astana.
