Closure of Azerbaijani Schools in Georgia not Included in Agenda: Deputy Education Minister

The Georgian Deputy Education Minister, Bella Tsipuria, has stated that the subjects of history and geography in the 10th and 12th classes will be taught in the Georgian language from September 2009. However, other subjects will be in the Azerbaijani language, Caucasus-Press reported.

According to Tsipuria, the new educational program has been developed. Pupils from 1st to 7th classes and the10th classes will be provided with new books. "They cannot close all Azerbaijani schools. Our counterparts should have the right to receive education in their own language, Tsipuria, stated.
