Azerbaijan reveals volume of its oil pumped via BTC

Some 74.9 percent of all oil transported from January through October 2021 through the main oil pipelines of Azerbaijan (21.8 million tons) accounted for the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, Trend reports on Nov. 16 with reference to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee's report.

Some 29.09 million tons of oil were transported through the oil pipelines of Azerbaijan from January through October 2021, which is by 6.71 percent less than in the same period of last year.

Over 2.8 million tons of transit (Turkmen) oil was pumped through the BTC from January through October 2021, which is by 18.08 percent less than in the same period of 2020.

The total length of the BTC pipeline is 1,768 kilometers, of which 443 kilometers pass through the territory of Azerbaijan, 249 kilometers - Georgia, 1,076 kilometers - Turkey. Construction of the pipeline was launched in April 2003 and was filled with oil on May 18, 2005.
