Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / About 16.6mln ton of cargo was transported January to October 2007, which is by 19% less compared for the mentioned period in 2006, Azerbaijani State Customs Committee reported. The export cargo stood at 9.6mln tons and import - exceed 7.2mln ton.
Some 674,600 tons of cargo was transported by sea transport, 2.9mln by railway, 592,300 by motor transport, 3,100 by air and 5mln tons by pipeline from January to October 2007, State Committee reported.
Around 4.8mln tons of cargo was transmitted via Azerbaijan for nine months of 2007, which is by 12 less compared to January- October 2006. Some 1.3mln tons of cargo was transmitted via Azerbaijan to Switzerland and Italy, 980,600 tons to Georgia, 362,300 tons to Tajikistan, 160,000 tons to Iran, 116,900 tons to Russia, 201,100 tons to Turkey, 123,400 tons to Turkmenistan and 78,100 tons to Kazakhstan.
