Azerbaijani Transport Ministry to complete establishment of intellectual management system before winter 2011

The intellectual management system is expected to be established in Baku in February 2011, head of the Transport Ministry press service Namik Hasanov said.

Head of the Ministry Transport Policy and Economy Department Sadraddin Mammadov said earlier that the intellectual management system would be operated in May 2011.

The intelligent system will allow the population to save time in transport, to streamline traffic and relieve tension in the transport system

A total of 64 million manat is needed for implementation of the project.

The Ministry launched the construction of the intellectual centre in Baku on April 6.

The Dispatch Center by the analogy of the Urban Transport Center in Seoul is being built on the agreement signed between the SK C & C and the Ministry of Transport. In the first phase the center will be focused in Baku, and will further cover the Absheron peninsula.

About 450 bus stops, which will be deployed electronic scoreboard, which will monitor the traffic and bus routes are planned to be installed as part of the intellectual system in Baku. The system envisages the establishment of about 150 new e-traffic lights.
