Georgia's Black Sea port Poti receives big displacement craft

Fore the first time Georgia's Black Sea international trade port Poti received big displacement craft loaded with construction materials owned to Azerbaijan, message at the port's official website said.

Length of ferry boat HOEGH OCEANIA loaded with construction materials hits 200 meters but length of free shipboard is 41 meter.

The port could receive big crafts only after dredging operations. Roughly 1 million cubic meters of land was withdrawn in the process of dredging operations of channel leading to port. Entrance channel was deepened to 12.5 meters upon the contract.  

Construction of container terminal in N14 berth continues. Dredging operations will allow terminal receiving big container crafts. Operations on construction of container terminal are planned to complete in the first half of 2010.     

There are 15 terminals in Poti port, the port's official website said.
