The inter-governmental Turkmen-Romanian commission for economic and scientific-technical cooperation held a meeting during the first official visit of the Romanian President Trayan Besesku in Ashgabat on July 21-22.
The sides studied the prospects of partnership. Power engineering, transport, agriculture, construction, tourism and trade were named as priority areas.
The joint commission also discussed increasing contact in the humanitarian sphere, especially in education.
Roughly 18 documents operate between the two countries. These documents were signed at inter-state, inter-governmental and inter-departmental levels. The Romanian President's visit coincided with the 17th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ashgabat and Bucharest.
The Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov paid a visit to Bucharest a year ago.
