National Bank of Georgia retains rate of monetary policy

The National Bank of Georgia's Monetary Committee has left unchanged the monetary policy interest rate at five percent. In February, the country observed several positive trends, which allowed the interest rate to remain unchanged, the bank told Trend Capital.

The National Bank of Georgia's Monetary Committee has left unchanged the monetary policy interest rate at five percent. In February, the country observed several positive trends, which allowed the interest rate to remain unchanged, the bank told Trend .

Among these trends are remittances growth on a system for quick transfers at 17.9 percent over the last year, export growth and expected growth in foreign direct investment.

The monetary policy resulted in a marked growth in credit to the economy by commercial banks.
