The forums, organized by the CIS Financial and Banking Council, have traditionally become a platform to discuss practical implementation of the Strategy of Economic Development of the Commonwealth, help to define its tools and mechanisms, understand the state of business, and how the business structures of the Commonwealth can help each other, Territorial Development Corporation president, Vice President of the CIS Finance and Banking Council Yuri Gusev said.
"In this sense, the Baku conference "Financial institutions - the structural basis for the modernization of the economies of the CIS member-states" will not be exception. I look forward to active participation of representatives of governments and international development institutions, heads of national (central) and the largest banks of the CIS countries, Europe and Asia in its work", Gusev said.
He said that there is no doubt that the possibilities offered by modern technologies of remote access are vast and varied.
"However, only a direct dialogue, personal contact and exchange views with colleagues and representatives of business and political elite form a professional environment, enable to find solutions to problems that impede cooperation in the CIS, establish a business partnership," Gusev said.
The CIS Finance and Banking Council is actively involved in formulating measures to improve the financial infrastructure of cooperation of CIS states, as well as measures to create a single currency area of the Commonwealth and improve the environment for mutual investments. This work is particularly important amid Russia's chairmanship in the CIS.
"At the upcoming summit, I would like to discuss with colleagues the prospects posed by international financial center, designed to be a powerful driver to form a global financial space throughout the Commonwealth, cover all the CIS markets ", Yuri Gusev said.
The CIS Financial and Banking Council, the International Bank of Azerbaijan with the support of the CIS Executive Committee will hold the III International Baku Conference of CIS member-states "Financial Institutions - the basis of structural modernization of the economies of the CIS member states" in Baku October 20-23, 2010.
