ACUA launches trainings under WB project

The Azerbaijani Credit Unions' Association (ACUA) and the State Agency for Agricultural Lending at the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry provide training for employees of the ACUA member-unions within the framework of the World Bank's (WB) project on "Lending and development of agriculture". Trainings are held from Oct.4 to Nov.10.

The Azerbaijani Credit Unions' Association (ACUA) and the State Agency for Agricultural Lending at the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry provide training for employees of the ACUA member-unions within the framework of the World Bank's (WB) project on "Lending and development of agriculture". Trainings are held from Oct.4 to Nov.10.

The first course on "Increase in share capital, importance of dividends and the need to develop new loan products, marketing" will be held first in Baku and then in the country's regions of Masalli Beylagan, Barda, Ganja, Gakh and Nakhchivan. One of the world's leading experts, Chief Executive Officer of the Association of the Asian Confederation of the Credit Unions, Ranjith Hettiarachchi, will hold these trainings.

The next training on "Collecting delayed loans and guarantee of their repayment" will be held by Canadian expert Richard Weger in Nakhchivan on Oct. 20 and then in Masalli Beylagan, Barda, Ganja and Gakh until Nov. 10.

ACUA was established in 2003. The main purpose of its activities is to promote credit unions (CUs), both at regional and international levels; facilitate the creation of new CUs; train members of the CUs to improve the quality of their work, establish relations among Cus and donor organizations; protect rights of CUs and lobby legislation related to their activities.
