Azerbaijan, Baku, April 14 / Trend /

Azerbaijan plans to simplify customs clearances for vehicles imported into the country by introducing a "single-window" system, State Customs Committee Chairman Aydin Aliyev said as the Cabinet of Ministers' meeting chaired by President Ilham Aliyev this week.

The meeting was devoted to socioeconomic development in the first quarter of 2011.

"A common mechanism is being developed with the relevant executive authorities," he said.
Aliyev said plans include carrying out customs and state registration, record keeping, issuing state registration certificate and marks and other procedures via the "single-window" system.
Azerbaijan applied the "single-window" process at the country's customs checkpoints in 2009.

The new system will allow the committee to improve control method efficiency and technical means of verification. This will save time on checks. The "single-window" system for vehicle registration will be a continuation of these activities.

The system's introduction is a new order in international practice. It positively affects trade acceleration between countries and international trade development.
