Explosions that occurred along the railway in Dagestan have not affected the train-schedules or movements between Azerbaijan and Russia, Azerbaijani Railways spokesman Nadir Azmammadov said on Monday.

He said that explosions along the Dagestan railway have become frequent, with several blasts occurring only last weekend. However, such explosions have not affected the railway traffic.

"Additional alternative roads were provided for out trains so that there would not be any problems with traffic," he said.

According to the Russian media outlets, the last blast took place on Sunday at 13:00 on the stage Kurush-Kyzylyurt in the Kyzylyurt region of Dagestan. No one died or was injured as a result of the explosion. One rail, however, suffered some damage so that movement stopped during repairs on this section.

This is the third blast to have occurred this past weekend on the railway in Dagestan.
