The ceremony of laying a new floating dock to the Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company (CSC) was held In Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), shipping company told Trend on Saturday.
Gorodets ship repair and shipbuilding Corporation (SSC) will build the dock.
Assistant of the Caspian shipment head Vugar Sadikhov noted during the ceremony that dry cargo ship, ten tankers and four ferries were added to the marine of Azerbaijan over the past eight years.
Metal repair dock with capacity of 8000 tons will be commissioned to the shipping company at the end of 2012.
Technically, the dock is completely new, and its life time is around 50 years.
Docks weren't built in Russia for over 15 years, and ship repair and shipbuilding corporation begins to build a new generation of docking CSC Director-General Vladimir Akimov said.
