Earnings to Kyrgyz budget exceed expectations

During the first six months of this year, the Kyrgyz budget received 2.82 billion soums more than planned, without taking into account "Kumtor" enterprise, the government said today.

This was announced at a meeting held by Prime Minister of the Republic Omurbek Babanov.

"The revenues of the budget increased by 40.519 billion soums instead of the planned 37.699 billion soums," the prime minister said. "This is a good index, despite the decline in production at the "Kumtor" enterprise. The activity of the Customs Service should be stressed. It exceeded the plan by 1.728 billion soums."

During the meeting it was stressed that there are no arrears in the payment of salaries and holiday pay for education employees.

Tax revenues were collected by 470 million soums more than planned. The amount of premiums collected by the Social Fund amounted to 8.912.5 soums with the planned amount of 7.967.0 soums.

Thus, the plan has been executed by 111.9 percent. The insurance premiums were collected by 2.338.8 soums more compared to the same period of last year.

While speaking about the cooperation with international donors, Prime Minister said that a standing committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister Djoomart Otorbaev will be established.

The Commission will actively work with international donors, monitor the compliance with the terms of agreements in a timely manner.

The committee will also include the representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Antitrust Policy and the Ministry of Finance.

The Prime Minister also instructed the Ministry of Finance to fully finance the capital investments up to July 10 this year.

The official exchange rate is 47.31 soums / $1 on July 5.
