Joint Kazakh- Russian transport and logistics company will start working in early 2014, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported on Thursday.
"In early 2014, in the first quarter the company will begin full-scale operation. We set this term," said Askar Mamin, head of the Kazakh Railways (Kazakhstan Temir Zholy). He was speaking at the 2nd International transport and logistics business forum "New Silk Road."
The heads of the Kazakh and Russian railways agreed on a joint schedule for the creation of the company..
According to Mamin, the company will attract additional transit transportation volumes to Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus and give dividends to the economies of these countries in the short-term future.
Both countries expect the new company will increase its GDP. In Kazakhstan this increase is expected at least at 1 percent, Mamin said.
