Turkmenistan attaches great importance to modernization and capacity building of the agricultural sector, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said at a meeting with Mark Von Pentz, president of Agriculture and Turf Division at John Deere, Turkmenistan’s Watan newspaper reported Oct. 27.
President Berdimuhamedov noted that John Deere is one of old and reliable partners of the domestic agribusiness.
Turkmenistan is always open for mutually beneficial business contacts with leading representatives of world business, in particular the US business, said the Turkmen president.
Mark Von Pentz, for his part, stressed the company’s high interest in expanding the areas of interaction and assortment of agricultural machinery, including new modifications of cotton harvesters and combine harvesters, tractors, as well as other agricultural equipment.
The businessman added that John Deere will make efforts to strengthen positions on the prospective Turkmen market.
