Uzbekiston Railways JSC and Metrowagonmash JSC (Russia) have recently wrapped up negotiations, and a memorandum was agreed upon at the end of the talks, Trend reports via Nuz.uz.
Uzbekistan purchased from Russia five trains in a four-car version consisting of two head motor cars, one intermediate motor car and one intermediate motorless car to equip the elevated line of the Tashkent metro.
According to the memorandum, Uzbekistan is to purchase five train formations from the Russian side.
A plan is to finance the purchase at the expense of the State budget funds allocated for payment of financial expenses during the investment period.
