Goods worth $81M exported from Iran’s Kurdistan province

As much as 151,000 tons of products worth $81 million were exported via customs in Iran’s Kurdistan province in the first month of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), Director General of the Kurdistan Province Customs Department Bakhtiar Rahmani said, Trend reports via IRNA.

He said that 24,900 tons of products were exported from the Siranband border market, 1,890 tons of products were exported from the Sanandaj customs and 84,100 tons of products were exported from the Bashmaq customs.

Rahmani added that exports from the Sanandaj customs increased by 8 percent, exports from the Sanandaj customs declined by 28 percent and exports from the Bashmaq customs dropped by 23 percent in terms of weight compared to the same month last year.

“Other customs exported 40,200 tons of products via the Bashmaq customs and Siranband border market,” he said. “This figure increased by 10 percent in the first month of this Iranian year compared to the same period last year.”

In general, exports from the provincial customs have dropped by 12 percent in terms of weight and 1 percent in terms of US dollar value, while increased by 142 percent in terms of rial value, he noted.

He added that 2,110 tons of products were imported via the provincial customs in the first month of this Iranian year. He said that 2.1 tons of these imports accounted for the Bashmaq customs, while the remaining volumes were imported via the Sanandaj customs.

“The cost of imported products via the customs of Kurdistan province amounted to $4.85 million,” he noted. “This Iranian year, imports via provincial customs increased by 179 percent in terms of weight compared to the same month last year and 534 percent in terms of dollar value.”

Rahmani said that equipment, tools were mainly imported from Switzerland, aluminum and rubber materials from Iraq and the UAE.
