From January to September 2019, Azerbaijan imported 30,908 vehicles, which is 88.7 percent more compared to the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the country's State Customs Committee.
According to the committee, the number of passenger cars, which accounted for the bulk of imports, reached 27,825 cars during the reported period, which is almost two times more compared to 2018's figure.
The number of imported vehicles with a capacity of 10 people and more amounted to 371 units (an increase of 3.4 times). The number of imported trucks also increased significantly and amounted to 2,597 units, which is 72.3 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
The number of imported special-purpose vehicles increased by 30 units and amounted to 115.
As for the volume of imports in monetary terms, during the reported period, the cost of vehicles and spare parts of them in total amounted to $896.127 million, which is 45.1 percent more than in the first nine months of 2018.
