TOP-3 products of Azerbaijan's non-oil export revealed

Azerbaijan sold $29.2 million worth of raw cotton abroad from January through February 2020, which is 11.3 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the Export Review (for January) of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC),

Over the reporting period, gold export, ranking second in the list of goods exported by Azerbaijan, amounted to $27.3 million (an increase of 26 percent).

Export of tomatoes, ranking third in the list of goods’ export, amounted to $24.7 million (increase of 27.9 percent).

In 2019, Azerbaijan also exported such goods and resources as raw cotton ($122.4 million), persimmon - $104.7 million), electricity - $76.8 million, methanol - $64.6 million, recycled polyethylene - $64 million, primary polypropylene - $65.7 million, and other products - $970.2 million.

In the first quarter of 2019 the amount of exported goods was as follows:

In January 2019, export of persimmon amounted to $12.6 million; electricity export reached $19.4 million in February 2019), and export of peeled hazelnuts reached $13.7 million in March 2019. Thus, the above-mentioned goods were the leaders in terms of export volume.

In the second quarter of 2019, tomatoes export worth $112.6 million dominated all three months (from April through June 2019).

In the third and beginning of the fourth quarter, export of gold worth $77.6 million ranked first all three months (from July through October).

In the middle of the fourth quarter export of persimmon ranked first, amounting to $64.1 million (from October through November), but at the end of the fourth quarter, the leader of export with the amount of $22.6 million were tomatoes.
