Turkmenistan's private sector boosts production

Turkmenistan continues to develop its economy, Trend reports with reference to Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

The GDP growth has remained at the level of 6.3 percent from the beginning of the year to the present day. The growth of Turkmenistan’s production increased by 5.3 percent compared to the same period last year. The volume of retail trade turnover increased by 19.8 percent compared to the same period last year. The volume of foreign trade increased by 6.1 percent compared to the same period last year.

Output in the private sector of Turkmenistan has also increased. Industrial production at the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs increased by 9.6 percent, agricultural and food - by 66.3 percent in January through March 2020.

Private sector in Turkmenistan accounts for 64.7 percent of the country's total production.

The implementation of such transnational projects, as Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan communication system is an important factor of Turkmenistan’s economy.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the need to reduce imports and increase exports of the country's products. The head of state instructed to monitor the state of the economy every day.

Because of the pandemic situation in the world, president of Turkmenistan ordered to prepare proposals for taking measures to defer the payment of taxes or loans.
