Iran's West Azerbaijan Province continues to launch processing units to prevent raw sale of mineral materials, Deputy Head in the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization in West Azerbaijan Parisa Abedpour told Trend.
"In overall, 117 processing units are active in West Azerbaijan Province with total production capacity of 9.1 million tons per year to prevent raw sale of mineral material," she said.
"Out of these units, 39 enterprises are working in stone cutting sector that created jobs for 519 individuals; the production capacity of the units is processing of more than 827,000 tons of stones per year," Abedpour added.
"As many as 78 units are active in sand processing, and they created employment for 847 people. The annual production capacity of these units is 8.3 million tons," the deputy head said.
"The necessary measures are taken to establish bigger processing units in cooperation with Iran Minerals Production and Supply Company to prevent raw sale of materials in the province," she added.
"In accordance with province's plan to improve mineral processing, three processing units are activated in north and south of the province," she said.
