Inflation rate in Kazakhstan was 3.2 percent over the period from Jan. to Apr. 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
The prices of foods items increased by 5.5 percent during the reporting period, whereas prices of non-foods items increased by 1.7 percent, and prices of paid services increased by 1.5 percent.
The prices of vegetables increased by 24.9 percent, granulated sugar by 13.6 percent, fruit by 12.5 percent, cereals by 8.4 percent, butter by 6.1 percent, pasta, flour by 4, 2 percent each, rennet cheese by 3.7 percent, pasteurized milk by 3.2 percent, fermented milk products by 2.7 percent, bakery and flour products by 2.3 percent, tea by 1.9 percent, bread by 1.7 percent.
In turn, prices of mutton increased by 5.4 percent, of horse meat and beef by 4.9 percent each, meat products by 4.8 percent, frozen fish by 4.1 percent, pork by 2.9 percent, cottage cheese and sausages by 2.8 percent.
Tobacco products increased in price by 4.7 percent, mineral and drinking water by 3.4 percent, soft drinks by 2.3 percent. A decrease in prices was observed on rice by 2.5 percent, millet by 1.3 percent.
Increase in medicine prices amounted to 4 percent, cars by 2.6 percent.
Gasoline prices increased by 4.1 percent, while diesel fuel decreased in price by 2.2 percent. The prices for health care services also increased by 1.5 percent.
