Kazakhstan's regions leading by agricultural output named

Kazakhstan’s agriculture, forestry and fishery gross output amounted to 701.5 billion tenge ($1.6 billion) over first four months of 2020, which is 2.2 percent more compared to the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Some 692.6 billion tenge ($1.6 billion) accounted for agriculture alone including 35.7 billion ($83.7 million), which accounted for plant growing, and 657 billion tenge ($1.5 billion), which accounted for animal husbandry.

The increase in the agriculture, forestry and fishery gross output in 1Q2020 is due to the increase of slaughter volumes of livestock and poultry in live weight by 3.2 percent, and yield of raw cow's milk by 3.2 percent.

Almaty region leads by the total value of agriculture, forestry and fishery gross output, which reached 114.6 billion tenge ($271.4 million) over first four months of 2020, showing 2.3-percent increase compared to the same period of 2019.

This includes 6.9 billion tenge ($16.5 million) worth of plant growing output and 106.4 billion tenge ($251.9 million) of animal husbandry output.

Second and third places accounted for Turkestan and East Kazakshtan regions.

The value of agriculture, forestry and fishery gross output in Turkestan region amounted to 110.02 billion tenge ($260.4 million), which is 2.5 percent more than during the same period of last year. This includes 18.2 billion tenge ($43.3 million) worth of plant growing output and 90.7 billion tenge ($214.9 million) of animal husbandry output.

In turn, agriculture, forestry and fishery gross output in East Kazakhstan region amounted to 83.8 billion tenge ($198.4 million), which is 1.6 percent more than during the same period of 2019. This includes 970.8 million tenge ($2.2 million) worth of plant growing output and 81.9 billion tenge ($193.9 million) of animal husbandry output.

Increase in agriculture, forestry and fishery gross output was observed in all 14 Kazakh regions during the reporting period.
