Iran resumes export of fishery products to EU

As a result of the efforts of the Iran Veterinary Organization, export of Iranian fishery products to the EU member states has been resumed, Trend reports referring to the information from the veterinary organization.

New companies to export the fishery products have been registered. At the same time, the US sanctions against Iran have created a number of problems for Iranian fishery products' export, the report said.

Iran exported 120,000 tons of fishery products worth $400 million in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020). The exported fishery were mainly various types of fish, shrimp, caviar and sturgeon.

The US imposed new sanctions on Iran in November 2018. Over the past period, the sanctions affected Iranian oil exports, more than 700 banks, companies and individuals.
