Iran reveals data on exports from Markazi Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 31

More than 590,000 tons of goods worth $307.5 million were exported from the Markazi Province of Iran during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through August 21, 2020), deputy governor of Markazi Province Saeed Farrokhi told journalists, Trend reports referring to the IRNA.

Farrokhi stressed that the value of exports increased 2.5 times compared to the same period of the last Iranian year, and the province's goods were exported to 80 countries.

“The exported goods were mainly various hydrocarbon products, fittings, glass, light, and heavy polyethylene, aluminum cans, steel products, and food products,” he added.

The deputy director said that the province's exports amounted to $120 million in the last month (July 22 through August 21, 2020).

"Currently, the province's trade turnover is on positive balance, and with the control of the coronavirus pandemic, the province's trade will increase," he said.

Farrokhi noted that the goods including production equipment and raw materials worth $124 million were imported from 43 countries, including China, Turkey, the UAE, India, and Taiwan during the first five months of the current Iranian year.

Iran's Markazi Province has 12 counties and a population of about 1.4 million.
