Iran`s Rana Plus car to be launched in October

TEHRAN, Iran, Sep. 19

Iran Khodro Company announced that the Rana Plus car will be launched in October.

"According to the production plan, with a daily capacity of 50 units, 15,000 cars of this type will be produced annually," Rana Plus car project manager, Seyed Ali Ghazavi said, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

"13,000 Rana Plus cars are expected to be produced by the end of the current Iranian year (end on March 21, 2021)," he said.

Referring to the differences of the Rana Plus car with Rana car, he said that "The main differences are related to the interior design."

Additionally, Ghazavi stated that the cruise control system is installed in this car.

Emphasizing that this project has been implemented to improve product quality and customer satisfaction, he said that "According to customers, the Rana Plus car has a better audio system."

Referring to the technical features of the Rana Plus car, Qazavi said that "The engine of this product is TU5 and its pollution standard is European five."

"This car has five gears and a 1600cc engine with 105 horsepower," he added.

Based on the latest report issued by the official IRNA news agency, the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 20-August 21) witnessed a 20 percent rise in the passenger car manufacturing sector, versus the same period of 2019.

The largest volume of the sector"s production during the stated period was achieved by the Iran Khodro, which outdone its counterparts, namely SAIPA Group, and Pars Khodro, as it raised its output 39 percent yearly.

Throughout the past Iranian year (ended on March 20), a total of 863,263 vehicles were produced in Iran by three major carmakers.
