Iran boosts its exports via Hamadan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 4

Iran exported 227,000 tons of goods worth $65.2 million through the Hamadan Province (western Iran) during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Hamadan Province Hamid Reza Matin told IRNA, Trend reports.

The chairman stressed the exports increased 22 percent in terms of value compared to the same period last Iranian year.

According to Matin, $36 million worth of petrochemicals and chemicals were exported from Hamadan Province during the reporting period and these goods accounts for 55 percent of the province's total exports.

Matin added that the industrial sector accounts for 22 percent of the province's total exports. The main exported industrial goods were water conditioner engines, dry milk, clinker and cement.

The chairman noted the share of the mining sector in the province's total exports amounted 4 percent and ferrosilicon is one of the main exported mining products.

"In addition, $11.9 million worth of agricultural goods were exported from Hamadan Province in six months. The raisins was the main exported agricultural good," he said.

Matin said that the handicrafts worth $75,000 were exported from Hamadan Province over the same period.

“A total of 93 types of goods were exported to 33 countries in six months,” he added.

The chairman stressed at the same time, 2,480 tons of goods worth $8.04 million were imported within 6 months.
