Export operations improve between Azerbaijan and Brazil

The volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Brazil amounted to $49.6 million from January through August 2020, which is 1.2 times less than in the same period last year, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

According to the ministry, imports of Brazilian products to Azerbaijan on an annualized basis decreased from $60.4 million to $46.1 million. Brazil's share in the total imports of Azerbaijan amounted to 0.69 percent of the total volume, against 0.64 percent in the same period last year.

At the same time, exports from Azerbaijan to Brazil in the first eight months of this year amounted to $3.4 million, while a year earlier this figure was $239,400. Thus, the share of Brazil in the total export of Azerbaijan increased from 0 to 0.03 percent.

Thus, the balance of foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Brazil remained negative over the reporting period, amounting to $42.73 million.

In general, in January-August 2020, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $16.57 billion, which is 27.6 percent less than in 2019.

The balance of foreign trade turnover on an annualized basis decreased by 22.9 percent, nevertheless, it remained positive, amounting to $3.18 billion.
