Demand for Turkish steel falls on Uzbekistan’s construction market

The export of steel from Turkey to Uzbekistan decreased by 36.5 percent from January through November 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, making up $33.3 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend on Dec.14.

Turkey exported steel worth $5.9 million to Uzbekistan in November 2020, which is 65.9 percent more than in the same month of last year, said the ministry.

According to the ministry, the export of steel from Turkey to the world markets over the first eleven months of 2020 decreased by 11 percent compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $11.3 billion.

Meanwhile, Turkey's steel export made up 7.5 percent of the country's total export in 11M2020.

Turkey exported $1.2 billion worth of steel to the world markets in November 2020, which is by 24 percent more compared to November 2019.

Turkey’s steel export in November 2020 accounted for 7.6 percent of the country's total export.

Over the past 12 months (from November 2019 through November 2020), Turkey exported steel worth over $12.4 billion to the world markets.
