Kazakhstan boosts production of iron, gold ores year-on-year

The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan has amounted to 41.9 million tons from January through November 2020, which is 2.5 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 4.06 million tons in Nov. 2020, which is 2.8 percent less than in Nov. 2019.

Production of copper ores dropped by 5.6 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 105.9 million tons (15.3 million tons in Nov. 2020, increase by 58.3 percent compared to the same month in 2019).

Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 6.6 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates an increase of 11.2 percent compared to the same period of last year.

The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 695,100 tons in Nov. 2020, which is 26.4 percent less in Nov. 2019.

Production of gold ores amounted to 22.6 million tons over the reporting period, which is 1.6 percent less than during the same period of 2019. The volume of gold ores produced in Nov. 2020 was 2.3 million tons, which is 4.6 percent more than in Nov. 2019.

Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 6.1 million tons, which is 2.2 percent more than during the same period of 2019 (1.01 million tons in Nov. 2020, increase by 60 percent compared to Nov. 2019).

As reported, production of manganese ores amounted to 673,100 tons, which is 39 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (90,700 tons in Nov. 2020, increase by 26 percent compared to Nov. 2019).

Production of chrome ores amounted to 5.8 million tons, which is 8.9 percent less than during the same period of 2019 (485,700 tons in Nov. 2020, a decrease by 14.9 percent compared to Nov. 2019).
