Iran's trade turnover with Eurasian Economic Union revealed

Iran exported 1.85 million tons of goods worth $639 million to the Eurasian Economic Union member countries (EAEU), during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 20 through November 20, 2020), Trend reports citing Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA).

According to the report, Iran's exports to the EAEU member countries decreased by 20 percent in terms of value and 6 percent in terms of volume over the 8 months, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“Iran exported 633,000 tons of goods worth $285 million to Russia during the reporting period. The exports increased by 29 percent in terms of value and 37 percent in terms of volume compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the report said.

In addition, Iran exported 176,000 tons of goods worth $91 million to Kazakhstan within eight months. The exports decreased by 8 percent in terms of value and 59 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year, the report said.

According to the report, Iran also exported 10,000 tons of goods worth $19 million to Kyrgyzstan in eight months. The exports decreased by 46 percent in terms of value and 49 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

At the same time, Iran exported 4,000 tons of goods worth $11 million to Belarus over the 8 months. The exports increased by 74 percent in terms of value and 52 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“Furthermore, Iran imported 2.33 million tons of goods worth $772 million from EAEU member countries within the first eight months of the current Iranian year. The imports decreased by 14 percent in terms of value and increased by 15 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the reports said.

According to the report, Iran imported 2.25 million tons of goods worth $727 million from Russia in eight months. The imports decreased by 8 percent in terms of value and increased by 22 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

Moreover, Iran imported 65,000 tons of goods worth $24 million from Kazakhstan during the reporting period. The imports decreased by 62 percent in terms of value and 57 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.

“Also, Iran imported 8,000 tons of goods worth $4 million from Kyrgyzstan over the 8 months. The imports decreased by 46 percent in terms of value and 3 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year,” the report said.

According to the report, Iran imported 2,000 tons of goods worth 5 million from Belarus within eight months. The imports decreased by 54 percent in terms of value and 51 percent in terms of volume, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
