Belarus significantly increases exports of beef meat to Uzbekistan

Belarus has significantly increased exports of beef meat to Uzbekistan for 11M2020 up to $38.6 million, which is 2.3 times more compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports referring to Belta Belarusian news agency.

According to the information, the trade turnover between Belarus and Uzbekistan from January through November 2020 increased by 5.4 percent to $225 million.

The export of Belarusian goods to Uzbekistan amounted to $187.1 million and increased by 10.8 percent compared to 11M2019, while imports from Uzbekistan decreased by almost 15 percent to $37.9 million. The balance of foreign trade in goods during this period was positive and amounted to $149.2 million.

It was also reported that supplies of poultry meat for 11M2020 increased by 1.2 times, milk powder - 1.8 times, sugar - 4.5 times, confectionery - 8.5 times, chocolate - by 2.4 times. Export supplies of polymers increased 5.3 times, hygiene items - 135.3 times, detergents, and cleaning products - 117.8 times.

Furthermore, Belarus supplies the Uzbek market with a wide range of export products from almost all industries. More than 360 commodity items are exported to Uzbekistan.

The agency also said that Belarus traditionally buys cotton yarn and knitwear, fresh fruits, and vegetables from Uzbekistan. Over 11 months of last year, supplies of Uzbek watermelons and melons to Belarus increased by 2.3 times, other fresh fruits by 2.2 times, nuts by 3.7 times, apricots and cherries by 1.9 times.
