Several facilities put into operation in Iran's agricultural sector

A number of facilities in Iran’s agricultural sector were put into operation as a result of 4,630 operations in this sector today on Apr. 22, Trend reports citing the IRINN.

The event was attended by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Iranian Minister of Agriculture Jihad Kazem Khavazi and other officials online.

In total, about 81.3 trillion rials (about $1.93 billion) has been spent on these operations and 42,300 thousand people have been employed.

So, 14,000 hectares of land in the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran) have been supplied with sustainable water and conditions have been created for agricultural development. In this regard, 8.2 trillion rials (about $195 million) has been spent and 20,000 people have been employed in result.

As part of 3,910 operations in several provinces of Iran, 72,000 hectares of land have been equipped with a modern irrigation system with the investments of 7.66 trillion rials (about $182 million) by the government and 4.06 trillion rials (about $96.6 million) by the private sector.

Furthermore, fishing facilities have been put into operation in 16 provinces of Iran. Thus, 166 tons of sturgeon, 13,600 tons of shrimp and 923 tons of sea fish will be grown annually. At the same time, fishing ports have been developed.

In general, the government has spent 930 billion rials (about $22.1 million) and the private sector - 4.92 trillion rials (about $117 million) on the facilities and as result of 15,700 people have been employed.

Moreover 571 livestock and poultry enterprises have been put into operation in Iran. These enterprises will produce 270,000 tons of milk, 10,000 tons of red meat, 18,000 tons of chicken and so on a year.

A total of 55.7 trillion rials (about $1.32 billion) has been spent on these enterprises and 6,580 people have been employed.
