Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Georgian Nadi Group Ltd snail farm increases production by 100 percent to meet the demand of export markets, Trend reports via Georgian media.

According to Merab Nadaraia, head of Nadi Group Ltd., in May, compared to last season, three times more products will be exported. In the future, given the demand from the new market, the amount of harvest will double.

Nadi Group Ltd will export 45 tons of snails in December to Italy, while it exported only 15 tons in the previous season.

The snail farm in the village of Akhali Khibula in Khobi Municipality was built within the framework of the "United Agro Project". These are European species of snails, which breed in Georgia.

"We are now also in negotiations with China, which is quite successful," said Nadaraia.

As for local demand, as the head of the company says, there was no active campaign due to the COVID-19 pandemic, therefore, the demand has not increased. However, Nadi Group Ltd plans to intensify in this direction as well.
