Georgia reveals share of its top-10 trading partners in external trade turnover

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21

The share of the top ten trading partners in the total external trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 71.6 percent from January through May 2021, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

Georgia’s top trading partners were:

Turkey ($758.1 million);
Russia ($598.7 million);
China ($ 552 million).

Overall, Georgia’s external trade turnover amounted to $5.01 billion from January through May 2021, which is 18.2 percent higher compared to the same period of the last year.

The value of exports increased 24.4 percent and totaled $1.53 billion, while imports also increased 15.7 percent, amounting to $3.48 billion.

The trade deficit of Georgia from January through May 2021 amounted to $1.94 million which is 38.7 percent of total trade turnover.

In the reporting period Georgia's top trading partners by exports were China ($262.5 million), Russia ($205.3 million) and Azerbaijan ($195.6 million), while top trading partners by imports were Turkey ($624.8 million), Russia ($393.4 million) and China ($289.6 million).
