As a result of the monitoring of Russian wine market, the Azerbaijan Fund for Export and Investment Support (AFEIS) develops analytical documents that will reflect proposals to the country government, AFEIS informed Trend. The experts of AFEIS is going to describe in their recommendations the ways of resolving the problems that Azerbaijan wine cannot take a niche place in the Russian wine market.

During the monitoring, there were held meetings with the leading Russian companies involved in the whole sale of wine. The investigation found out that two main problems the high prices of the Azerbaijani products and import of counterfeit alcoholic products into the Russian market spoiled the image of Azerbaijan.

AFEIS in going to put forward proposals on the price policy. Today the price of the Azerbaijani wine is in the same category with Italian products and therefore, local products lose. There is e need to consider the reduction of the prices.

We consider that Azerbaijani manufactures of alcoholic products need a support at the state level. It may be provided by organizing exhibitions, presentations and marketing campaigns. We consider that it needs to take measures now while there is a great competition in Russian wine market, told AFEIS.

Such a situation has appeared due to the issue that Georgian and Moldavian wines were forbidden to be imported into the Russian market.
