3 Injured Employees as a Result of Accident in Azerbaijani Tanker Released from Hospital

Three injured employees as a result of the technical accident occurred in Azerbaijani tanker Shamkhor of the Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company have been released from the hospital, a source in the Shipping Company told Trend.

Today, only two employees injured as a result of that explosion still remain at the hospital.

Technical work carried out became the reason of the explosion on tanker Shamkhor occurred on December 18, as a result of the welding works on installing gas analyzers in the pipe where gas accumulated, and that caused the explosion. The source in the Caspian Shipping Company told that works on cleaning remnants of oil products and degassing were carried out at the tanker earlier.

Five employees were injured and one dead at the Plant Named after the Paris Commune. Four employees carried out the work. One is dead, the other thee are seriously injured. Other two persons were injured as a result of rendering the first aid to injured.

All expenses connected with the cure of the injured employees, as well as the organization of the funerals of the dead employee Jalil Heybat oghli Gourbanli (born in 1968) the Caspian Shipping Company took upon itself. The family of the dead will receive his salary till the children reach the age of 18.

The deadweight of vessel Shamkhor is 12,334 tons. The tanker previously was equipped with the second board, by the international standards.
