Average Salary Increases by 26% in Azerbaijan in January

The State Statistics Committee informed Trend that in January 2007 the average monthly wage made up 160.6 manats in Azerbaijan or 26.3% more than the same period in 2006.

The highest salary rate was fixed in the extractive industry, as well as financial, leasing and commerce and construction sectors.

In January 2007 the average monthly salary exceeded 61.1% of the average per capita income. It comprised 99.7 manats with a rise of 28.4% compared to a similar period of last year.

As of February 1st 2007 the net income of the Azerbaijani population made up 838mln manats, or 29.9% more than 2006. Real community incomes after payment of taxes, membership fees and other payments made up 741.1mln manats, or 32.8% more than last year.

In January people spent 86.9% of private incomes on the purchase of foodstuffs, products and services, 11.6% on expenses for tax payment and 1.5% on saving and increase of capital.
