Turkey Officially Confirms Its Support for   Azerbaijan’s Entrance to WTO: Turkish Minister

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Khalilova / On 14 June Baku hosted a ceremony to sign a protocol between Azerbaijan and Turkey as a result of bilateral talks on Azerbaijan's entrance to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

The document was undersigned by the Azerbaijani Minister for Economic Development, Heydar Babayev, and the Deputy Adviser on Foreign Trade of Turkey, Ulker Gezel.

According to Babayeva, the singing of the document testifies Turkey's support to Azerbaijan's membership to the WTO. "At this stage Turkey is the only country which has signed this protocol," the minister stressed.

In accordance with the protocol, the sides agreed upon mutual privileges on foreign goods turnover.

Gezel confirmed Turkey's readiness to support Azerbaijan from the beginning of talks and render every assistance. The last talks between the countries were held in Baku in April.
