SOCAR divers raised bodies of two died in helicopter crash in Caspian

Divers of the Ali Amirov ship, equipped with special altitude chamber for a deep-water immersion, raised the bodies of the two dead (Victor Maskolenko and Rafiga Nematova) as a result of the crash of the MI-8 helicopter on one of the offshore platforms of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), the company said on July 15.

"The helicopter, crashed due to bad weather conditions in the sea was not raised yesterday. It is planned to raise it today," the SOCAR said.

The helicopter crashed on July 12 is 90-95 meters under water. Three members of staff and three passengers remained on board. Commander Alik Aliyev, the second pilot Vitaly Nekrasov, flight engineer Adil Azimov and motorman of compressor workshop of oil and gas producing department 28 May of SOCAR Aydin Talibov were saved.

The department on grave crimes investigation of the Prosecution General filed criminal case on violation of air security and exploitation rules of the Criminal Code of the Azerbaijani Republic.
