SOCAR's ecology department conducted environmental monitoring at the fields of Absheron Operating Company, a statement said.
According to the report, data on the outcomes of wells operated by gas lift method and water injection wells was collected during the monitoring.
Monitoring has shown that the company determines the volumes of oil and reservoir water, as well as calculates the volume of water using a special measuring equipment operating on the basis of a computer.
The company uses the water passing through a special cleaning system at Hovsan channel (industrial and domestic water) to maintain reservoir pressure in the wells. During the day, about 197.4 cubic meters of water are pumped to the wells.
During the monitoring the radiation background was measured. Indicators of background radiation were within normal limits.
