Ashgabat hosted the opening of a high-rise 25-story building, the Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources Ministry said on Monday. The building contains the oil and gas complex's research institutes.

The French company Bouygues constructed the building.

The building will accommodate the TurkmenGas Oil and Gas Institute, TurkmenGeology State Corporation Research and Exploration Institute, Turkmenneftegazstroy Project Department, and Nebitgazservis and the Oil and Gas Institute Professional Training Center.

It will also accommodate administrative units and a maintenance department.

According to the BP's energy report, Turkmenistan ranks fourth globally for natural gas reserves after Russia, Iran and Qatar.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov stressed in one of his speeches that "Turkmenistan is one of the world's largest exporters of hydrocarbon raw materials, and it will not weaken its position over time, because the country has proven reserves that are enough to last for dozens of years of intensive exports."
