The managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) said Monday one of Iran's key priorities was to exploit gas and oil from joint fields in border areas, reported İRNA.

Speaking in a national gathering held on the sidelines of the 16th Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemicals Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2011), Ahmad Qal'ebani said Tehran also gave priority to development of infrastructures in the upstream industries.

He stressed that Iran had great potentials for taking part in making major decisions in the field of world's energy.

Qal'ebani added that providing necessary domestic and foreign financial resources as well as increased use of human resources were among the top strategies of the NIOC.

The Iran Oil Show 2011 started in the Iranian capital on April 15 with the participation of 1,550 domestic and foreign companies from 40 world countries.
