The amount of electric power stored at Iran's power stations surpassed 10,000 megawatts since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (it began on March 21), ILNA news agency reported.

The electric power generation capacity of domestic power stations hit 55,000 megawatts, showing 4,000 megawatt increase compared to the same period of last year.

During the first half of this year, Iran exported 4 billion kwh electric power to neighbors, Iran's power network managing director Mir Fatah Qarehbaghi was quoted by ILNA as saying.

"Iran currently exchanges electric power with Turkey, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq," he said.

This year, the volume of Iran's electric power exported to Iraq reached the highest rate," he said. "The country imported 100 million kilowatt hour."
