The foundation of a new building as an office for the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has been laid in Batumi at Street Bakinskaya, 46.
SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and Georgian Finance Minister Alexander Khetaguri lowered a capsule into the foundation of the building.
According to Abdullayev, Batumi is developing and turning into a city of regional importance and therefore it was decided to build the SOCAR office mainly in this city. "We will construct the building in a classic style and it will grace this street," he said.
Abdullayev made the statement the day before SOCAR started construction of a carbamide plant in Kulevi.
"Good relations between our presidents are the basis of our successful business in Georgia and billions of investments in projects in Georgia are very promising for both sides," he stressed.
