The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported 825,320 tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline in the first quarter of 2013 compared to 985,400 in January-June 2012, SOCAR said on Tuesday.
In 2012 SOCAR exported 2.06 million tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to 1.99 million tons in 2011.
According to the report, in June 169,440 tons of oil were exported from Novorossiysk compared to 164,660 tons in June 2012.
SOCAR tranships oil from its own fields and from joint ventures and companies operating in Azerbaijan, through Novorossiysk.
Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) became the operator of the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline till late 2007. It then transferred these functions to SOCAR.
